C.U.C. - Cardigan under Construction
Thank you for all the comments to my shawl-productions, so nice to hear from readers ;-) And I agree with
Marie-Louise, that the 'Femina-shawl' is a very nice and motivating knit.
I used to be a bit intimidated by sweater-patterns and hence stayed mainly with shawls and socks. This intimidation seems to have evaporated though, maybe around the time I got Ann Budds sweater book? Some days ago, I found my self entering a yarn shop, getting 'Newzealandsk Lammeuld' (New Zealand lambs wool) of the shelf, asking the lady how much she'd estimate for a cardigan, and getting the answered 500 g. And here I am, simply knitting away without a specific target in mind (though have envisioned a straight forward plain, but much need, cardigan ). As I haven't decided the front details yet, I started with the cardigan-back and a sleeve will be initiated tonight. All made on my mothers old metal 4.5 mm straight needles. I feel all nostalgic using them, being used to circulars.

Knitted Items!
Flora from Knitty turned into an autumn-flower, a quick knit which I'm quite pleased with. I really like the flower, its a nice size and shape, but the best bit is the stamens of the flower. It took me a moment to work out how they were made, and they sure add time to the flower construction, but lovely they are :-) I have used double stranded Fortissima Colori from Shchoeller and Stahl, color 2425, and 5 mm needle. I could so do another one of these, and then perhaps in a happier colour :-)
Another shawl is done. The pattern was found in the Danish magazine Femina a while ago. I fell in love immediately and will most likely be spending a considerable part of my autumn and winter wrapped in this thing. It has a perfect fit, it keeps my back warm and the 'sides' are long enough to reach around the body to be tied at the back, hence no loose ends to dip into food etc.
My version is done in Drops Alpaca (colour 7139) double stranded, on 6 mm needle (I think!)

FloraAlong
Over to the left, a pretty new button has appeared made by Bettina for a Flora knitalong.
As it happens, when one REALLY is supposed to do other things (such as write frantically on a thesis), knitting projects can get even more distracting than normal. Last night, after many hours of computer-company all I could think of was couch+knitting - something small and easy, and Flora pattern + nearest yarn were grabbed. And as it surely is a relatively quick nit... I'm done! Will take photo tomorrow during daylight.
Will leave the button though, who knows if I'll do another :-)
